Swarthmore Public Library is a municipal public library, and is a member of the Delaware County Public Library System. Our mission is to empower our community to read, meet, discover and grow. We offer a full range of services that enrich the lives of our residents from infants to seniors. The Swarthmore Public Library provides nearly $2.2 million of free services to Swarthmoreans and nearby residents each year. We are one of the smaller libraries in Delaware County, but year after year, we continue to have the highest circulation per capita.
We offer a browsing collection of fiction, mystery, non-fiction, audio-books, music on CD, and movies on DVD. We also offer access to computers, eBooks and eReaders, audiobooks, streaming services, and many online resources for library card holders. We have a robust line-up of programs and events for adults and children, and have installed a Storybook Walk in a local park.
